WOW It's Week 10 Nearly...

Hi!
Long time no update.
It's the end of week 9 (out of 10) here at Warwick University and oh am I ready for the holidays. I am beginning to get into end of term mode, but I have another fortnight of hard work ahead of me. I need to get very well stuck into, if not finishing, at least one 4-5,000 word essay over Christmas, which as yet is completely untouched and unplanned. So that's the first week after the end of term eaten up!

What else has been going on?
A short selection of highlights

* going to Sheffield to see Ed and Katie R, - great friends of mine and a fantastic hosts. I had such a good weekend with them. Very encouraging!

* going to the Biblical Evangelism Conference and being trained and equiped to better share the Gospel from the Bible and give evangelistic talks. This was put into practice last night when I

* spoke at Warwick CU Globe cafe. It wasn't the best I've ever preached, and I am annoyed about that, but God promises to speak through His word, despite me. This is tremendously encouraging.

*being involved in a Christianity Explored course that has now finished. Was a huge success, people came each week to find out about Jesus. Brilliant to see people's hearts change during the weeks. 1 person became a Christian during the course. Please do pray that the others who came (some of whom are doing Bible studies with a friend of mine) will be saved.

*getting to know various new friends better. I miss my friends from my previous Warwick life, but I am grateful to God for supplying me with people to encourage me.

*meeting up with one of the pastors from my local church each week to study John's Gospel. The weekly 2 hours with Lee are an unbelievable blessing to me, opening up the Word of God and studying it, being studied by it, - it brings such joy, peace, faith, hope, excitement and grace!

*spending a few hours with Jason yesterday evening, relaxing, catching up a bit, and watching House series 5. Fun!

* a lie in this morning.
*reading Francis Schaeffer's classic The God Who Is There. Well worth a read. Sinead - you'd love this. (As would everyone i guess!)

*
booking tickets to go see Ludvico Einaudi next march at Warwick Arts Centre
*listening to the song underneath on repeat. (Thanks Agnes for the heads up.)

A List

  1. Two birds have pooed on my window. Thank you for that.
  2. It is cool and windy outside. Very loudly so. Was that what Jesus meant in John 3: 8? Not so much that the Spirit gently breathes, but powerfully blows?
  3. I would very much appreciate not having so much French work to do.
  4. I can't fail to see my French s'ameliore if I do this much French each week.
  5. This week has been about as busy as I can cope with.
  6. I would very much like one of these (look to the right) with supper tonight, for medicinal purposes for my throat of course. Sadly Tesco is too far away... (Nb; this is the best alcohol free beer ever!)
  7. I should not be procrastinating in writing this list.
  8. Can't wait to meet with Lee and study John's Gospel tomorrow. Win!!
Update: I shall go to Tesco after all. I have no food!
